The heart of the VOM FASS method is our invitation to our valued customers to sample and learn about every product in the store! If we have it, you can taste it. After learning about our fine offerings, you can ask our informative staff about uses and applications. Once you decide what to buy, you can choose exactly how much, and what size and type of bottle you prefer (fancy, for a gift; or just practical). We then, if you prefer, will decorate your purchase and personalize it – at no cost to you!
Why can't I buy gift baskets online?
For now, gift baskets must be ordered directly through our Madison store location. This is due to limited availability of some of the basket options. Just a quick call to (608)204-0300 will connect you with a helpful and friendly staff member who can quickly assess whether we can meet your gift basket needs.
What does 'VOM FASS' mean?
‘VOM FASS’ translates from German as “from the cask.” True to their name, all VOM FASS products are displayed in our stores in bulk containers, e.g. wooden casks, glass balloons, ceramic amphora, and stoneware crocks.
How is VOM FASS different from other 'oil and vinegar stores'?
Most oil & vinegar stores are just that – oil and vinegars, most purchased as commodities. VOM FASS, by contrast, selects all of its products from the original producers, based on a rigorous process. This ensures that, when you visit a VOM FASS, you will be sampling an incredible range of unique products, and they will be the absolute best that can be found anywhere.
Why can't I buy some of those great scotches and unusual liqueurs on your web site?
At the present time, the complex web of state and federal alcohol laws make it prohibitively difficult to offer our spirits and liqueurs on the web. This may change in the future as the laws become more ‘internet commerce’ friendly. We will be the first to let you know. In the meantime, do visit your nearest VOM FASS shop as the opportunity arises.
