How To Pair Whiskey and Waffles | Easy Appetizer

Last week we enjoyed a Whiskey tasting of our exquisite selection, and we decided it was fun pairing it with WAFFLES! Some sweet and savory Waffles with a malt whiskey is a perfect combination. A few simple ideas below to entertain at home.

The best pairing of the night was our Brie, Homemade Raspberry Jam, and Rosemary Waffle paired with Jack's Choice Single Malt Irish Whiskey 11 years.

The secret of this recipe is the Raspberry Jam:

INGREDIENTS

 DIRECTIONS

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the fresh raspberries, the sugar, and the lemon juice, and let it set between 1 and 2 hours, this will bring all the natural extracts of the fruit out.
  2. Second, in a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the mixtures of raspberry, and add the vomFASS Framboise Liqueur.
  3. Cook, frequently stirring, until mixture is boiling. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring frequently. Cook until the mixture had thickened and left a trail behind your spoon when you whisk. This should take somewhere between 12 and 15 minutes.
  4. When Jam has thickened, remove from heat and transfer to a clean glass jar. Let cool completely before covering and refrigerating.

Once the Jam is cold, you are ready to make your appetizer:

  1. Make the waffle of your choice, and put it into a plate.
  2. Add two or three slices of Brie Cheese; if the waffle is hot, the cheese will melt quickly; however, you can always add extra heat, placing your waffle with brie in your oven for a minute or two.
  3. Add the full spoon of your Raspberry Jam over the Brie cheese, and garnish with fresh Rosemary leaves for flavor and decoration.

Enjoy your Brie, Raspberry Jam, and Rosemary Waffle paired with Jack's Choice Irish Single Malt Whiskey 11 years and invite family and friends to have a delightful evening.
